Bakhtar’s continuous work and its huge impact in the community attracted the federal government’s attention.
Today, It was an honour to host representatives of the Department of Home Affairs in our office in Dandenong. As part of the Departments work in local communities, they were on the hunt for community organisations like ours who are doing work on the ground, which has a huge impact on outcomes for CALD communities.
Our key members were interviewed and asked about their role in bringing cultures and people together as one, why it matters to them and how we all can contribute to improving the quality of life for everyone around us, especially the new arrivals. More specifically, topics such as social cohesion, integration, and inclusiveness were discussed.
A proud moment for all of our volunteers and myself to continue and enhance our services in the community.
